Nobility

There was once a noble looking man,
Who was as noble as can be,
He had this noble little notion,
And brewed this noble potion,
So now only people as noble as he,
Would be able to see this noble invisible man.

But now nobody can ever see him,
Not even his best friends or his family,
Something went wrong, or so he thought,
So the answer he tried to sought,
But as he tried, he decided finally,
That nobody was as noble as he, it seems!

Life went on well, for this invisible guy,
Gave advice and pointers as he had always,
Thinking that it was a noble little act,
But nobody bothered, that’s a fact,
Because nobody ever did hear what he says,
Now all he ever does is sigh…

He realized that nobody cared for noble ways,
Because his acts were only noble to him,
But what can be nobler than that?
He thought it over; on the chair, he sat,
His future now looked quite dim,
He continued sitting there, thinking, for days.

One fine day, he finally stood up,
Decided to change his flawed habit,
Not to give so much advice and guidance,
To just lend a listening ear, he learns,
Giving advice only when they want it,
Still they didn’t see him, but he never gave up.

He found out that there were other acts, you see,
That can be seem as noble to others,
It’s not just a measure of how much you know,
But rather how much you do show,
Being honourable and honest to others,
Being loyal, pleasant, polite and trustworthy.
